New Release: I.D. - "Akusative / Flay"

Artist: I.D
Track 1: ‘Akusative’
Track 2: ‘Flay’
Label: Cool & Deadly
Cat No: CAD006

I.D. is Ed Bayling, who lives in Prague but is a native of Manchester, where he met long time friend and partner in crime Baobinga. Together they have released a slew of cutting edge tunes culminating in their BIG MONSTER project for FAT! Records.  More recently they have handed in heavy remixes for Stanton Warriors and Meat Katie’s Lot 49 label amongst others.

On a solo tip, an I.D release has always meant an amalgamation of garage bass, proper breakbeats and endless energy – a recent remix for Reso and a forthcoming release for Re:Connect records with “Mission” will be further proof.

AKUSATIVE’ is killer breakstep business, for fans of Loefah, Oris Jay, Toasty Boy, Reso and all. ‘FLAY’ rolls Dubstep, Breakbeat and Techno into a ball and skanks across the dancefloor. Both tracks have been tried and tested by label co-boss TAYO, as well as CASPA and FREQ NASTY, to devastating effect.

AKUSATIVE’ / ‘FLAY’ follows on from Bassbin Twins, TRG, TAYO, and BLACK CANVAS as the sixth release from the nascent COOL & DEADLY label, an imprint whose aim is to inhabit the space between Dubstep, Garage and Breakbeats. Where the backbone is dub and the body is bass. More singles from Tayo, TRG, Bassbin Twins, an album from Black Canvas and a VERY exciting project from a high profile drum and baser to come over the next few months.

D-Monic's Pick:

I.D. - Akusative

"Always loved the breakstep sound, and this tunes is a dark breaks-dubstep transition tune that works well.  Cool & Deadly is becoming one of my favorite labels."
